Hey, parents!

In this edition, you’ll find frog-themed theatre for little ones, family board game meet-ups, outdoor movie nights, a free art exhibition with 30,000 butterflies, birdwatching adventures, a guided visit to one of Europe’s most important Neanderthal sites, a hands-on workshop exploring the world of sound, a series of fun scientific challenges, an open-air lullaby concert for babies, a hilarious interactive journey through the legends of Odin, Thor and Loki, and plenty more to keep the whole family entertained.

Forward this and look like you have your life together

A show your kids will love

Don’t miss this magical, dazzling show where an eccentric musical clown weaves together musical routines, circus techniques, and plenty of clowning—all drawn from his “time machine,” where the old blends with the contemporary.

A fantastic artistic activity

This August, there are several free printmaking and bookbinding workshops for kids 5 to 12 at Madrid’s Municipal Printing Press, where they’ll learn how to make their own secret notebook, sketchbook, or journal.

Not your average swimming pool

Feel like you’ve been transported directly to the beach at this municipal pool, which is just a little bit different. This pool has waves, so when they start everyone is jumping over the swells, floating along, and having a blast.

A dragon-themed festival

Dragons take over this charming town outside Madrid for a unique 3-day festival celebrating these legendary creatures through music, literature, history, tradition, and contemporary art. Families can enjoy dragon-themed workshops for kids, including one where little poets can write their own dragon-inspired verses, along with performances, and plenty of cultural activities for all ages.

Where cycling meets art

A while back, my kids and I tried a very origin activity: Bike Spin Art. After a quick scavenger hunt to uncover the hidden paint, we hopped onto specially adapted bikes that spin a canvas as you pedal. A few squirts of paint, a burst of speed, and suddenly you’ve created a colourful, one-of-a-kind masterpiece. It’s creative, active, and just the right amount of messy!

Wishing you a weekend that leaves your laundry basket full and your camera roll even fuller.
