Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Airplanes reported missing in 1945 suddenly appear in the Mojave Desert. A commercial flight encounters a glowing object that the pilot is unable to describe. The U.S. government, suspecting the existence of strange phenomena, manages to find out where the visitors are going to land and devises a cover-up operation so that no one finds out. But a group of people share a vision of life on other worlds that draws them to that place.
