Hey, parents!

In this edition, you’ll find a water rocket workshop, an immersive nature experience, a nighttime museum visit, interesting workshops at the Royal Palace, a special film to prepare for the upcoming eclipse (August 12!!), a silent visual symphony where handmade puppets come to life, several nature-themed gymkhanas, a tree mystery experience, a basic bike maintenance workshop, a Mexican soccer movie screening, and some local fiestas with puppets, magic, and storytelling!

Warning: May lead to suspicious levels of organization

A stargazing adventure

Spark your kid’s curiosity with a hands-on workshop, games, and experiments for the whole family. You’ll be able to use professional telescopes to see the surface of the moon, Saturn’s rings, and distant star clusters with your own eyes!

Birds, bugs and compasses

If you’ve never done an activity at La Cabaña del Retiro, this is your chance. They’ve planned lots of nature-based activities for families in August, from scavenger hunts and exploration adventures to birdwatching and insect research.

Once again, it’s time to party

Lavapiés is about to celebrate its fiestas, so don’t miss the fantastic program of activities, which includes concerts, DJs, magic shows, workshops for kids, storytelling sessions, performances, lemonade, and more!

Skip your local pool

If you’re after something a little more exciting than your local pool, head to Mejorada del Campo, just outside Madrid. With waterslides and plenty of space to splash around, it’s a fun summer upgrade for the whole family. It’s close enough for an easy day trip from Madrid and usually much less overwhelming than the bigger water parks, making it a great choice for families with younger kids.

Madrid’s sweetest museum

If you’re looking for an indoor plan, Sweet Space is a fun choice. Part art museum, part interactive playground, it’s filled with sweets, ball pits, slides, and colourful rooms that kids for exploring. There are surprises around every corner and lots of opportunities for fun family photos, making it a great option for surviving the current heatwave when you want to do something memorable.

Go make some memories. I’ll be back next Thursday with more excuses to leave the house.

Have a fantastic weekend, and if someone asks, “How did you find this?”… you know what to do.

See you next week… same time, same inbox.
