SUMMARY:Miradas ordenadas
DESCRIPTION:Nature is order\, but it is also disorder. Playing with that idea\, we will reflect on the Vertical Forest at different scales. \nIs there any order in a landscape\, or is there a reason for it to be that way? What about a garden? Why is one design chosen over another? Where is there order and disorder? Are all leaves the same? Are they symmetrical? What about their cells? Does a garden contain only the species that were initially introduced? Are there animals? What role do they play? What will the gardens of the future be like? \nIn this activity\, we’ll engage in participatory and experimental activities to try to answer all these questions—and any others that may arise during the activity. Using dichotomous keys\, magnifying glasses\, microscopes\, field notebooks\, and design journals\, you’ll discover all the secrets hidden in this unique Vertical Forest.

SUMMARY:Jugar con los límites
DESCRIPTION:In his later years\, Henri Matisse developed the technique of cut-out paper\, which he used to create many of his most famous and admired works. \nBut the discovery of this technique was partly driven by a limitation: during those years\, the artist was confined to bed or a wheelchair\, which led him to replace paints\, brushes\, canvases\, and solvents with sheets of paper that were already painted. \nThis seemingly accidental approach aligned with the artist’s constant quest to renew art. \nIn this workshop\, we’ll take Matisse’s lesson to heart to change the way we view art through exercises that take us beyond what is familiar and lead us to experiment with creation within new boundaries—opening the door to discoveries\, changes\, novelty… and surprise. \nIn this way\, we’ll discover the work of artists with different abilities who have advanced art and who help us understand why the arts—and the world—must be inclusive.

SUMMARY:En busca de la diosa
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to play detective of the past? Identifying an archaeological find isn’t as easy as it is in the movies\, but it can be just as exciting (or even more so)! \nArchaeologist Núria Roselló will use real-life cases to explain how we figure out the identity of the artifacts we find. \nFinally\, you’ll get to take part in an identification process where you’ll put into practice the secrets she’s shared with us.

SUMMARY:Paredes vivas. Construye tu jardín vertical
DESCRIPTION:You’ve probably walked past the CaixaForum Madrid Vertical Garden\, and some questions may have popped into your head… How can the plants survive? How does it work? \nCome and discover how we’ve managed to keep more than 15\,000 plants alive without soil on a vertical wall. And that’s not all—you’ll also be able to build your own vertical garden and take it home so you can care for a plant without soil\, but with plenty of love. \nThe Vertical Garden at CaixaForum Madrid was the first of its kind installed in Spain and boasts the largest continuous surface area in the world; this impressive tapestry of greenery was designed by Patrick Blanc\, a French botanist and the inventor of this technique\, which he has used to create vertical gardens all over the world.
