The Real Teatro de Retiro celebrates Halloween with one of the most influential films of the silent era: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, a seminal work of German Expressionism directed in 1920 by Robert Wiene, a visionary artist who understood the world of the future as few others did at the time. Now we can experience this masterpiece, in which the sets play a leading role and the props are just as important as the actors, with Elisa Caliza’s music lending the images a striking expressiveness. The silent movie will be accompanied by live music.
